Aptar Digital Health Expands Collaboration with Biogen to Develop Neurological and Rare Disease Solutions

  • New partnership model leverages Aptar Digital Health’s capabilities to support the development and operation of new and existing digital health solutions globally
  • Initial scope of multi-year agreement covers several indications in neurology and immunology across 15 countries

AptarGroup, Inc.'s digital health division, Aptar Digital Health, has inked a significant enterprise agreement with Biogen Inc. to operate and innovate digital health solutions tailored for neurological and rare diseases. This strategic partnership signifies Aptar's expanded involvement in neurology and immunology, two pivotal therapeutic domains.

"Through this collaboration, Aptar will provide a full range of capabilities including product management, design, development, and maintenance of software applications, secured cloud hosting, and customer and marketing support to Biogen," stated Pierre Leurent, President of Aptar Digital Health.

The partnership will commence with the transition of several flagship digital health solutions owned by Biogen to Aptar's management in North America, Europe/UK, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. These solutions include Cleo™/Aby™, a digital care companion for multiple sclerosis patients, and Physio.me, a digital exercise companion for individuals with neuromuscular disorders.

In addition to managing existing solutions, Aptar and Biogen will collaborate on the potential development and introduction of new digital health solutions for the management of spinal muscular amyotrophy, Friedreich's ataxia, and lupus in selected regions.
