Indian Immunologicals Donates 10,000 Doses of Anti-Rabies Vaccine to Vulnerable Communities in Vietnam

IIL's Generous Contribution, Led by Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah and Managing Director Dr. K. Anand Kumar, Aims to Combat Rabies Among Economically Disadvantaged Populations Across Five Provinces

Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL), led by its Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah and Managing Director Dr. K. Anand Kumar, has generously donated 10,000 doses of its anti-rabies vaccine to economically disadvantaged populations in five provinces of Vietnam.

The donation was made during a function held in Hanoi, chaired by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Head of the Rabies Control Programme, Government of Vietnam. The event was attended by numerous officials from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), various provincial representatives, and officials from AMV Medical Group, led by its CEO Mr. Minh.

IIL is a "One Health" company dedicated to the development of vaccines for zoonotic diseases, responsible manufacturing for environmental protection, and imparting knowledge and awareness to all stakeholders on diseases. The company exemplifies social responsibility in all its endeavors.

With 75% of all emerging and re-emerging diseases originating from animals, IIL employs various technology platforms to develop vaccines against zoonotic diseases such as rabies, brucellosis, leptospirosis, porcine cysticercosis, and COVID-19. Additionally, IIL is developing new vaccines against diseases like Zika and Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD). As the world's largest manufacturer of anti-rabies vaccines for both animals and humans, IIL is leading the global "One Health" initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. K. Anand Kumar stated, "IIL has been supporting many developing countries by supplying vaccines at affordable prices. In Vietnam, IIL's anti-rabies vaccine Abhayrab is the brand leader, having saved several thousands of lives. We have forged a very good partnership with AMV Group and DAVAC, and have been supplying vaccines in Vietnam for 15 years now."

This donation underscores IIL's commitment to global health and its ongoing efforts to combat zoonotic diseases, providing crucial support to vulnerable populations in Vietnam.
