Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, has announced the opening of a new Global Business Services Center (GBSC) in the Philippines. Located in Quezon City, Manila, this new center will integrate with a global network of over 1,600 colleagues across five existing Shared Service centers, operating as a central hub to deliver financial and customer services for its customers in the healthcare and biotech industries.

The new GBSC will expand Thermo Fisher's established presence in the Philippines, where over 1,400 team members are already engaged in clinical research and customer support. The center will initially employ 100 individuals, with plans to expand the workforce to over 450 colleagues by the end of 2026.

"Thermo Fisher is committed to being a reliable partner in the Philippines and the wider Asia-Pacific region." said Konrad Bauer, Senior Vice President, Global Business Services at Thermo Fisher Scientific. "This new site represents a significant expansion of our extensive global network of Global Business Services Centers. With this growth, we are strategically positioned to enhance our capabilities that enable our customers’ important work.

Thermo Fisher has an expanding presence in the region, supporting customers through comprehensive solutions in areas such as biotech, healthcare, clean energy and environmental monitoring.

“Thermo Fisher’s expansion in the Philippines demonstrates our continued commitment to expand our regional footprint to better support our customers. With the Philippines’ skilled workforce and robust infrastructure, the new GBSC will continue to nurture top talent and function as an integrated hub to serve global customers,” said Sho-Wen Yeo, Vice President and General Manager of Southeast Asia & Taiwan for Thermo Fisher Scientific.

In July, the company was recognized on the FORTUNE 500 list of the largest U.S. companies and has also received other prestigious accolades, including Forbes America's Best Employers for New Grads, Time World's Most Sustainable Companies, and Forbes America's Best Employers 2024.
