Lunit , a leading provider of AI-powered solutions for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics, announced that it has signed a multi-year contract with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE's largest and most comprehensive healthcare network and a key pillar of the country's public healthcare system. Under the five-year agreement, Lunit INSIGHT MMG, the company's AI solution for mammography analysis, will be deployed across SEHA's network of 14 hospitals and more than 70 primary healthcare and ambulatory care clinics, which together comprise over 3,000 beds.
This agreement follows a successful proof-of-concept (PoC) evaluation that Lunit and SEHA initiated in 2022. As part of that initial collaboration, SEHA assessed the performance of Lunit INSIGHT MMG, yielding promising results that led to this full-scale deployment. Over the next five years, Lunit INSIGHT MMG is expected to analyze more than a hundred thousand mammography images, supporting SEHA in enhancing breast cancer screening across the UAE.
"The UAE represents a key market in Lunit's global expansion, and we are thrilled to further strengthen our collaboration with SEHA," said Brandon Suh, CEO of Lunit. "This long-term partnership underscores the trust SEHA places in our AI-driven solutions and reflects our shared commitment to advancing breast cancer screening and early detection. By leveraging Lunit's cutting-edge AI, SEHA can enhance its radiology workflow, ultimately improving patient outcomes."
SEHA, part of PureHealth—the largest integrated healthcare platform in the Middle East—serves as the backbone of the UAE's healthcare system, providing medical services from the capital to remote regions. The adoption of Lunit INSIGHT MMG aligns with SEHA's mission to implement world-class AI-driven solutions in medical imaging and radiology. This effort also supports the UAE's broader national initiatives for early cancer detection, such as the Ministry of Health and Prevention's annual breast cancer awareness campaign, which highlights the importance of preventive screenings and timely medical care.
The medical AI market in the Middle East is on a steep growth curve. From roughly USD 200 million in 2024, it is projected to grow to around USD 1–1.5 billion in the next 5–7 years. Specifically, the AI in healthcare market in the UAE is expected to reach USD 137.9 million by 2030, with a projected CAGR of 34.6%.[1] The increasing adoption of AI-driven imaging solutions is expected to play a significant role in shaping the future of radiology in the region.
