Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary and a leading provider of clinical trial solutions for the life sciences industry, today announced a collaboration with Sanofi Vaccines. The collaboration confirms that the Sanofi vaccine study will make extensive use of Medidata's eCOA solution. This partnership builds on the success of Medidata and Sanofi's long-standing use of Medidata Rave EDC (Electronic Data Capture).
The collaboration will use the eDiary feature in the eCOA to create an e-diary database dedicated to the Sanofi vaccine. The database will help accelerate the configuration time of future studies, increase efficiency, improve data quality, and ensure that the electronic diary is patient-friendly.
Sanofi chose to adopt eCOA in its vaccine studies to optimize the patient experience by reducing on-site monitoring and allowing patients to record data in real-time from any location. Six recent pilot studies of vaccines including eCOAs have demonstrated good patient compliance and a high degree of data reliability. Based on this, the two parties have changed from a pilot cooperation to a formal expansion of cooperation, and eCOA has now been widely used in Sanofi's various vaccine clinical trials.
"Expanding our collaboration with Medidata will allow us to improve our clinical development process in anticipation of bringing breakthrough vaccines to patients," said Sanofi Vaccines, Global Head of Clinical Data Management. "With a customized e-diary database, we have been able to optimize the e-diary configuration in our current trials and improve the quality of the data to move forward in the digital age of the pharmaceutical industry. "
Anthony Costello, CEO of Medidata Patient Cloud, said, "At Medidata, we put patients at the heart of everything we do, and Sanofi is no different. "Our collaboration will help improve the patient experience and facilitate patient monitoring in current studies, while accelerating timelines and efficiencies for future studies." ”
Medidata eCOA provides a holistic solution that will revolutionize the way sponsors, research sites, and sites collect data from patients, physicians, and caregivers. As part of the unified Medidata Platform, eCOA reduces study time-building by nearly 50% while providing a comprehensive view of patient data and providing patients with flexibility and choice when participating in trial activities.
Sanofi has been working with Medidata for more than a decade and continues to use Medidata solutions to securely and efficiently capture and manage research data, including vaccine studies.
