India is right now in the grip of a devastating second wave of the deadly coronavirus with cities starting to go under fresh lockdowns. India crossed the 4-lakh mark of the single day cases in the month of May, the highest tally in the world since the pandemic began. This increasing burden of Covid positive patients, 3000+ recorded fatalities per day, lack of life saving equipment like oxygen cylinders and concentrators, ventilators and BiPAP machines, is crippling the country’s healthcare structure.
As India faces a second wave of COVID-19, Promega Biotech India is partnering with Sambhav Foundation (a LabourNet Initiative) to donate oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines and organise vaccine camps across the country to combat the COVID -19 pandemic’s second wave in India. Medical equipment will be donated to hospitals to augment their capacity to help patients infected with COVID-19 across Delhi /NCR.
“Since the earliest days of the pandemic, Promega India has focused on keeping our employees safe and providing support to communities. We continue to explore other meaningful ways to help in saving lives and are committed to support the nation in this time of crisis. The current crisis in India motivates us to extend beyond our own horizons and support our nation,” said Dr Rajnish Bharti, General Manager, Promega Biotech India Pvt Ltd.
Currently, the company is also distributing free of cost hand sanitizers and face masks to testing labs and local communities and plans to extend support by providing PPE kits and face shields.
