Logistics4Pharma has announced an expansion of services at its Kelsterbach facility near Frankfurt Airport, with the introduction of advanced dry shipper technology. This enhancement fortifies its position as a leading GDP-compliant provider in the cold-chain warehousing and logistics sector, specifically catering to the pharmaceutical industry.

A dry shipper, or cryoshipper, is a specialized thermal container equipped with an inlay designed to absorb liquid nitrogen (LIN), effectively cooling its contents to temperatures as low as -196°C. This technological advancement enables the secure and efficient transportation of highly sensitive and complex pharmaceutical compounds.

Julius von Pfeil, Head of Supply Chain & Finance at Logistics4Pharma, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating, “By expanding our shipment capabilities to -196°C, we can now meet bio-pharma customer needs, enhancing Frankfurt Airport’s status as a major logistics hub for highly-sensitive complex pharmaceutical compounds.”

The introduction of dry shipper technology at Logistics4Pharma began with staff training and equipment validation in late March, immediately after the equipment’s arrival. The facility is set to commence its first commercial shipments in mid-April, marking a critical milestone in its service offerings.
